blender factory settings

I want to do a factory reset on Blender as I'm having performance issues in what should be simple things to do.

However I've got about a year or so's worth of preference changes made over this time to the point where I don't remember what is default blender, and what preferences are things I've changed.

Am I able to save my current preferences (addons included - maybe), do a factory reset, and then reload and compare the two to find the changes I want to make and/or revert?

    HI Harris,

I think the easiest way, would be to have two Blender Versions open and Load Factory Settings in one of them and compare that with the other Version:

Load Factory Settings is not permanent until you Save Startup File, by the way.

I'd just start from scratch and little by little let my needs dictate what was important to me. So as I work I'll be like dangs I'm missing this stuff I used to do, it made my job easier, let me install it. And again as I work being like man this task is killing me... oh right I used to use this stuff, let me go get it. And little by little you'll get back the things you used the most without overloading everything with a bunch of stuff you're not sure you'll use.
