selection outline bug / artefact?

Question

I have a model , which shows a out of place outline. Seems as if the outline refers to the geometry before rotating. If i apply rotation (ctrl+a) it alligns again with the model, where can i find this?

    HI Martijn,

My first guess is, that that's a graphics driver issue.

    Things you can try:

Switching between OpenGL and Vulkan, to see if that changes anything. (Preferences > System > Display Graphics > Backend)

Open the file, or Append the model  in a different Blender Version.

Update the GPU driver, or even go back a version.

mm guess i am limitied in such

-switching option is not visible in my blender (4.3)

    - i just started a new file in 4.2, same issue

    - i am limitied on this machine as it is our companies machine. Will have to apply rotations/scale/transform then i gues.. because than outliner pops onto the geometry

    tnx so far

Blender 4.3 is the first Version that supports Vulkan (Windows and Linux), but you need to enable Developer Extras under Interface > Display. (That is not needed in 4.4+ anymore.)

I would recommend to try and get that fixed (maybe send a Bug Report for 4.2 LTS), because Applying Transforms just to 'fix' a visual but is a terrible idea!

i agree, would be a work around that i am not happy with. . i will give that a try, as i somewhere find this strange, it has worked fine before..

I still think it's a driver issue. Especially when it worked fine before.

Also looked through the Bug Reports and couldn't find any mentioning this.

Man I've never seen such a bug. I'd be cool to open the files on a different computer, see if it still does that. That way you can rest easy that it's all about an evil Blender entity made up of zero's and ones inside the computer you're using.

could be a driver issue i guess, however it is on the laptop i use at work so i am somehow dependent on our ict department. at least it works for now. thanks so far!
