Back in the old days when I used Blender, extrude was far easier and far straight forward. Now, it leaves a hollow space when I extrude. As time goes by, Blender is getting far worse and far more inconvenient. I tried every setting to accomplish what is shown in the picture. Now I been manually adding faces. Why did Blender take this feature out?? How do I do this again? Blender just sucks. This is really frustrating how much they changed for inconvenience. I apologize for the rant but something as simple as this where I cannot find how to do is just so infuriating and it is such a basic Blender mechanism that they seem to have eliminated.
I'm trying to accomplish the 2nd pic. I don't want this hollow box!
It's ok, starting out it's all so alien we all tend to get frustrated, until we practice and practice and it all begins to click and then it becomes second nature. Modeling has some strict rules you have to follow, meshes behave in ways that later become easily predictable, you just have to hang in there until you get the hang of it. Trust me, you'll get the hang of it and then it becomes addicting and cool.
Have you watched the Blender basics yet? Or the Fundamentals of mesh modeling?
Well, Blender's Extrude hasn't changed, Kimberly.
