I've always been a fan of Dynamic Paint. One little thing about it seems irritating - I guess it must be well known.
[4.2.9 LTS] I set up a brush and canvas (Image Sequence), bake the sequence, and the baked images all appear correct. I assign an Image (Sequence) Texture to the canvas, and playback looks fine.
If I then change some paint settings and Bake again, the baked images are updated appropriately. If I play back immediately, I see the previous baked image data (presumably in a memory cache of the Image Texture).
Ticking "Auto Refresh" on the texture node seems to have no effect. To see updated data, it seems necessary to click the folder icon and select all the images again. (Or, save the project and relaunch Blender.) It's only annoying because I need to tweak settings dozens of times to get the look I want, and it's clumsy to view the changes.
Am I missing something else? Maybe there is a better workaround? It probably has never been a high priority.
HI techworker1 ,
Unfortunately, I do not know of a better workflow; I too, sometimes find myself 'fighting against the cache' 😉
