Merging Faces?

posted to: Modeling the Sides

So it took me a while to figure out why I was having beveling issues, and then I finally figured out that when I created the face under the battery door, my edge loop went to the inside edge instead staying along the outside edge like he warned about, but I just missed it. I just deleted the face and redid it to fix it, but it made me wonder if there is a way to "merge faces" so that 2 faces directly on top of each other with no double verts will combine to fix the problem. Essentially cutting the edges of the smaller face into the larger face. It wasn't too difficult to undo and fix, but I can imagine this may become a bigger issue on more complex meshes. Is this a thing?

    Hi dbro0808 ,

What I do in a case like that, is to Delete one (or more) Face(s). The easiest way, is to do this in Wireframe and Face Select Mode. You can then click on the Center Dot(s) of the Face(s) you want to Delete.

Yeah, that is basically what I did, thanks for the reply.
