It might be better to stick to the Blender Version used in the Tutorial.
But here it is in the new Principled BSDF:
Ahh ok thanks so much for the reply! Is there a specific spot I can see what version is used for each course? Or is there a version that should cover me for the majority of the courses? Just seems weird to have 10 different versions of Blender installed at once :O.
Bottom right corner of the UI shows the Blender version - in this case 4.0.2
The tutorial was made with 3.4.1, as you can see right under Kent's left shoulder/arm (right from your point of view).
MMogthor think of each Blender version as a separate tool to complete a task.
You could use whatever tool you like, but when learning it's best to use the tool the instructor is teaching with,
Learning CG becomes much more efficient this way, as the frustration of UI and other behavioural changes will be eliminated.
A trainee mechanic for example, will start learning their trade using traditional tools,
only when more experienced do they then get to use the the fancy high tech modern tools.
I did not know the blender version is displayed in the right hand corner at the bottom. Thanks for that tip
