That's enough!

Question

I'm a bit fed up with guys who gratuitously criticize women who publish their work, thinking they're better than them.
It's tiresome to justify themselves every time. They don't do it for their male colleagues. It's boring (merde)
We're just as bad as they are, and we've got a right to be. ;)

    Hi Claire,
Is this a general observation about published work or something specific you're seeing in the gallery? Unwarranted critique can be rough, and can be doubly so for female artists whether we want to admit it or not.

I hope it's not a CG Cookie thing, everyone here so far has been super chill. You can message any of us if you see someone behaving out of place, we'll throw Adrian at them.

Truth, lol. When I did engineering classes, it was usually me and just one other woman in the class. When the guys did things wrong, it was normal because they were still learning, but when we did things wrong there was always a sense of "If they don't know what they're doing, why are they even in this class?"

I really expected CG Cookie to have more of the kind of guys who act like that floating around, but as Omar says, it's been super chill. Easily the warmest tech related place I've studied.

I have only gotten positive comments here and useful critiques. Of course it is never nice to hear that something in your work isn't perfect and needs to be adjusted, but we're (forever) still learning.

I never named or criticised CG Cookie or his competent and friendly team. I should have emphasised that I was open to constructive criticism in my preamble. At 60, I have nothing to fear, but I'm not the type to denounce, it's pointless and contrary to my nature. I prefer to warn with humour whenever possible. When I've got free time, I devote myself to Blender, it warms my bones and my neurons. The team is great, Omar makes me laugh with his boundless imagination and Adrian seems to forge his own machines. But it's brave to say what you think.
Phil, I don't share your opinion, but I respect what you write. Sensitivity is not a question of gender, fortunately, men are just as sensitive as women, that's just the way it is.
Thank you all for your reactions.
