RoboOrb Assignment

Polybooks

I submitted this final assignment earlier.

I learned a lot from this course. I hope they make more...8^]

Hi Brad, I'd like to see it without the Subdivision Surface Modifier..

It's not bad, but you have 6-sided Poles here (and symmetrically on the other side):

    and even 7-sided ones here:

But I must admit, that those poles are not noticeable in the rendered version (not even with a shiny Matcap), so: good job 👍🏻

Wow, great points. I swapped out the models and you can view it with no sub d now. I'll swap it back later.

Thanks for your eagle eye assessment, I missed that altogether

  • Martin Bergwerf replied

    ...and you passed 😊

I see that I missed another 6-sided pole at the back:

but, like I said, they are not causing any shading artefacts, so, as far as I'm concerned it's okay!

Yeah, that 6 sided at the back of the top portion was from the course instruction so the poles seemed to let slide at this level, I think, but you're right and something to be mindful of, as well as smoothing out the spacing better. The shetchFab wireframe is great for checking things out.

    Thanks

Very good points Martin. I updated the SketchFab to reflect and remind me what to be mindful of.

    Thanks

Indeed, I just checked my model and it has that same pole at the back...
