Hi Kent! I must say I love your courses! Amazing job, great explanations, just epic! I am beginning with cycles right now, and I try to learn from you, however I'm not sure what to do to achieve some specific effect: I would like the reflections to filter the brightness and to reflect only highlights. I want midtones and shadows to stay completely transparent. It is very common characteristic of many glass materials, however it looks very tricky for me. Maybe I'll get to it later, however I thought that maybe you have some good ideas how to implement it. Waiting for a response. Cheers!

Thanks so much for the positive feedback :D Interesting effect you're after with Cycles. Though it sounds more like "specular" highlighting rather than physically accurate Glossy reflection. Blender Render uses specular highlighting to reflect only light sources and nothing else in the scene. This lesson has more info: https://cgcookie.com/lesson/blender-render-diffuse-specular/

Thank you, I am grateful for your response. However I can see there is no specular shader or anything like this in cycles....
