When I render the image, my rendering is a grainy. In the tutorial this is not a problem even though I am using the source files provided. See video- http://youtu.be/5azrwEFF-eI Why is this?

In your render settings under Sampling, is the integrator set to Path Tracing or Branched Path Tracing?
  • Tim Brennan(beetle) replied
It was set to Path Tracing. I tried changing this setting and rendered the result before and after. Before with Path Tracing https://www.dropbox.com/s/s6587m89xdrgv5w/Screen%20Shot%202015-07-23%20at%2020.03.42.png?dl=0 After wtih Branched Path Tracing https://www.dropbox.com/s/5chlyjviniud2pa/Screen%20Shot%202015-07-23%20at%2020.02.08.png?dl=0

In the starter file the area lamps need to be set to multiple importance. I'm brushing up on my basics, and was puzzled why a simple glossy shader was producing so much noise.
