Blender GPU question

I have a Wacom  MSP i7 256GB. …l it has the ability to turn on GPU. I saw in Blender File, Preferences, Systems, it too can turn on GPU.

So, do I need to turn GPU on in both systems? When  is  the GPU used? For animation? Only sculpting? Anytime when rendering?

I have a  YouTube video showing how to turn GPU on in Wacom, but how is this done in Blender?

Blender uses the GPU automatically, apart from Cycles Rendering; that can be enabled in your Preferences. As default it is set to None:

And in the Render Properties, when using Cycles, this is set to CPU.

Switching to CUDA or Optix or HIP  (or...?) will give you the possibility to select your GPU(s) and then you can set the Properties (Cycles Render) to use GPU:
