Getting rid of extra edges - how did you do that? 5:10

If I select "select edge loop" then "delete" it deletes the adjacent faces as well.

So that's probably not how you did that.

What is it I don't know?

    Hi Erik,

In edge select mode you can try dissolve edges for the edges that are not crucial to the mesh. If it doesn't remove the extra edge, it means that the edge you ar trying to move would break the mesh.

    Other option, in vertice mode

mode, and with the merge option on (little icon up right near the xyz), select the vertices of the edge you want to remove, double tap g and move them to the next set of vertices.  That will also remove them.

Last option, when you have possibly a lot of vertices double, en vertice mode : select in X ray the zone you want to simplify, tap m, merge by distance and play with the distance if the vertices are not close enough. Be aware though that this will work on your selection and that if there are important vertices you cannot delete selected within range,, they will be deleted/merged, might be breaking your mesh.

    Hope this helps! Cheers,

    Seb

If you press x, you get the Delete menu and you can choose: Edge Loops, or Dissolve Edges, or (and this is what Kent used) use the shortcut CTRL+x.

spikeyxxx you are putting it way better and way more clear🙂
