What's with the 'Disco Lights' on the walls?

Just finished the bake of lighting in Evee and this is what it looks like.

I'm confused as to what is causing the bright lights on the walls.

What could I have done wrong to cause this?

Thanks

    Hey ssquidring ,

Are you creating an underground rave?

    If so, this works.

If not, make sure the irradiance volume inner cube is only just outside the wall, scale it from all angles (top, side, front).

All the dots should be inside the walls.

Your number of resolutions will almost certainly differ from the number Kent uses.

It will depend on what your computer can handle and the overall size of the cube.

Avoid having the dots too far from the wall, but also not too many that they intersect the wall.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Adrian @adrian2301

Thanks for coming back so quickly.

I had considered the scale and the position of the dots the first time, but retried and have included some screen shots.

I've used the same settings that Kent had in the recording, I've attached screen shots of those too.

I re-baked and have attached the new image, it is slightly better,  but not much to be honest.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

I'm not sure what the issue is,

try reducing the resolution to 30x30x8

    and see if it helps

Adrian is right that these "disco" artifacts (love that description btw) are due to resolution of the irradiance volume. You can see one spot of this appearing in my scene as well:

The higher in resolution the more detailed the light bake but the longer it takes and more data is saved to your hard drive. The lower you go in resolution the smoother the bake (no disco artifacts) but you lose detail. This is the balance game we have to work within.

I found that the disco artifacts are much less noticeable in the final scene once materials and fog are present.
