It looks like the end of the controller where the wires connect is actually a separate piece. The image shows a seam there. It might be easier to seperate this out for the wire connections. Anyway I've been looking for a way to complement you on such a great tutorial. I have learned so many things in spite of having used Blender for years as a Hobbyist. Pat yourself on the back.
