The purpose of Parent inverse matrix

Wished you would explain the Parent inverse matrix, a bit more than what the blender docs explained.

Is the purpose of the parent inverse matrix in parenting to prevent Parent's transformations from being passed down to the child ?

That's right! It's so that when you parent an object, what you see is what you get regardless of the prior transformations.

What else would be helpful to know about it?
