Will adding/applying a skin wrap modifier mess with rigging/weight painting/animating?

My retoplogized  face mesh didn't quite turn-out, however if I apply a skinwrap modifer afterwards it fits the face perfectly. The retopolgy is still intact, but will this cause any issues with rigging/animating? thanks

    You'll almost certainly want to apply the shrinkwrap modifier prior to rigging. etc. The retopologized mesh is what you will be working with in later steps.
