My over-ambitious submission for the Fundamentals final low-poly assignment.
Inspired by the "Let me tell you about my boat" scene from 'The Life Aquatic', I modeled a boat that opens bisected (like a dollhouse). With over 800 objects (over 65 individual props and over 100 props total if you count the duplicated/instanced props) the full poly count ended up being just under 350,000 tris (349,926 to be exact which includes the background elements).
What a wonderful project and presentation, I love the staging and how it's put together (besides the crazy amount of modelling). Very inspiring!
Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out, Michallis! Truly appreciate the kind words of encouragement! Definitely fuels my desire to learn and create more ❤️
Amazing work overall! I really enjoyed the animation of moving about the boat. If I could click the "Love" button again, I would. I found myself scrubbing the video back and forth over, which I can't remember the last time I did that on an animation. It is like seeing someone's beloved model train set where you can explore the details.
Thanks so much, John! Truly, that means a ton to me; beyond humbled and inspired to create more ☺️
Double wow. Amazing submission for a low poly assignment Joe. It turned out amazing!
Thank you SO MUCH! It was a ton of fun to throw together (even though it took a bit more time than I woulda liked 😅
Really appreciate your supportive and kind words ☺️
Wow it's "The Joe Hansen" and it looks great. Some say it's unsinkable. So much detail, so much work. Love that you even built a background for the scene. Life Aquatic is a cool movie by the way, I should watch it again since it's been years since I've seen it.
Thanks so much for checking it out, Omar! ☺️
