The plan is to stretch my sculpting skills (which are largely non-existant) by recreating the classic prop from the film The Maltese Falcon.
So far I just have the rough form kind of loosely blocked in. I am really liking the silhouette from the right side - that matches my reference (see the wikipedia page for the movie) but I might have gone for a little too much detail too early and think that I am going to smooth out some of that feather detail and go back down a level before I continue.
C&C is welcome, but please keep in mind that this is just a few hours into my first attempt at this. :)
