Blender and Krita.
Cycles gpu-render. SSS-effect by using the ray-length node.
Saffron bun was sculpted in and texture painted in Blender.
Krita used for fine-tuning transparancy of flame and the texture for the candle.
Flame is a distorted sphere with normal direction controling transparancy.
Lighting very simple; HDRI for ambient, very little. Candle flame lighting the rest.
