This tree looks kind of Dr. Seuss-ish. It's not quite an animal, But I think it still looks pretty cool.
It's 200,000 pine needles in a particle system applied to doughnut-shaped meshes. There's also a thin tree from the sapling add-on underneath all that. The leaves could have been smaller, but I'm afraid that may have melted the computer. :)
