Axolotl Final

My first more "elaborate" Blender project. Inspired a bit by Randall from the Pixar movies, but the idea evolved. From what was originally meant to be a colour-changing lizard, into a cute, big-headed pot-bellied transulcent axolotl. Rendered using the internal engine, the character has normals which give him slight ribs, not too visible in the current lighting setup. Materials are still heavily WIP, trying to nail that "transulcent" look of axolotls. Texture map's from an old version of the material setup (which gave fairly odd results), hence the colour disparity. The gills are rigged and simulated, making them spring naturally as the character moves, the armature has an IK setup, with the IK handles controlling the rotation of the palms. As a "first" I'm fairly pleased with it, though the facial expression options are fairly limited, due to rather messy topology, and lack of skill/forethought. Will most likely use it for an animation project soon-ish.
