BC2-1803: Week 1 - Understanding Character "Stylization"
Live Stream Host: Kent TrammellThis event is part of the March 2018 Class, "Creating Stylized Characters with Blender".
To kick off the BC2-1803 class, we're analyzing stylization as a concept. What makes it different from reality? How can we train our brains to stylize what we see?
After all, stylization is as old as mankind: From Egyptian hieroglyphics to cave paintings, humanity has always expressed itself with a stylistic aesthetic. This stream is all about centering your inner style. We'll use caricature as an exercise in stylization.
Go home.... ~Ferris Bueller
See you guys in the thread 👋
I'll close up after this, but yes you make a good point
ebitherat. I think an employer would ideally see both: An artist capable of unique designs as well as capable of authentic translations from 2D-to-3D. Both are valuable characteristics for sure

jjakeblended I think there's good things to learn from being 100% authentic to concept art, especially from a professional sense (Hey I'll pay you X to create exactly this character in 3D). That said, this is your project and your welcome to alter as you see fit 👌
you can do whatever you want Jake, use your wildest imagination :D
