Tobles, I hear Switzerland fire explosives into sky, so to break up large hailstones into smaller ones.

Kent - try lowering your sun on the Z...I think having shadows on the undersides of those clouds ruins the intended effect, since they're supposed to be illuminated from beneath

Like I said, hailstorms are a PEST!!!

Tobles, the worst hailstorm we had in this country was in late 1980s. Hail stones as big as golf balls rained down like BULLETS. Windows and car bonnets were damaged by hailstones. People got killed by hail stones.

Kent, you can sell on of those skies for millions of dollars if you hang it as a modern art piece

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended)

You will still need to lower the sun lamp in the scene I think, in order to get the cloud shadows right,.

I don't know if there are wooden houses in Canada. I cannot imagine there are any, as Canada is as cold and wet as Ireland. Further north, it is colder as it is near North Pole.

Volumetric Rendering *today*, Junior

If you're like me, a few years ago you tried volumetric rendering with Cycles. And after waiting 30 seconds for your computer to calculate 1/100 samples, you cancelled the render and never tried it again.  The fact is volumetrics are extremely complex to calculate and sloooooow to render.

Until Eevee! Volumetrics in Eevee shocked me the moment I heard it was a feature and I have to say they're quite competent. Finally we can edit volumetrics quickly. Sure you lose some authenticity but it's well worth adding this tool to your Blender utility belt.

In this stream we will focus our creativity toward clouds, starting with a simple cloud chunk first and then trying out a larger "cloudscape":
