Sven Juhlin is a gifted character artist who has been a personal inspiration my entire career. Discovering his work in college was both enlightening and motivating for me as an aspiring character artist.
Over the years, Sven has worked for some of the biggest names in the business, amassing a very impressive portfolio. In this stream I will be taking a deep dive into Sven's character work. Hopefully some of his magic will rub off on us.

As long as you are good enough, you don't need a formal education for anything.
Rule three: when doing portrait, always start from the sitter's nose, because that is the most central feature of face. From nose as the center, you can very quickly work your way outwards.
[Q] Do you think if those rim lights are trickery it cheapens the art? Do you feel you have to achieve things from the get go within the scene?
