Watch course trailer Get StartedThis is where we add the Refractive and Reflective qualities of the material. You will see how versatile Cycles’ nodes can be for forcing optimizations, fine-tuning absorption, and segregating refractions and reflections so they can be manipulated independently for maximum user-control.

Kent's Custom Absorption & Fresnel Nodes
Hey fellow CGC citizens. Here's where and how to find Kent's custom Fresnel and Absorption Nodes:
It's in the Shader Forge Course. Go to #12 Marble. Download the source files for Marble. In your project, go to Append, click on the Marble download. Find "finish.blend" and click on that. Find "NodeTree" and click on that. There you will find both the Fresnel and the Absorption. Select them both and hit "Append from Library." There you go.

Hi, I couldn’t find a video detailing the node tree of the Fresnel group node. I checked current courses like Fundamentals in Shading, the Pancake Hobo and even archived courses… I am a total beginner to Blender and can’t figure out what nodes connect to both the group input and output Factor A + B sockets. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :) This is so far what I have based mostly from the Pancake Hobo course (butter shader) along with much guess work with regards to the possible group output and input as I attempt to imitate Kent's final group node: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z5jlgoesq2r2lwd/Fresnel%20guess.png?dl=013 Answers -

Hi,in the tutorial you mention that the pancake hobo tutorial goes a bit more in depth on absorption; I'd like to know more on that but can't seem to find it on the site or in the archive. Is there a link available for the tutorial?2 Answers
