Branches and Cones Final

A test scene of some assets I’ve created for a Douglas Fir tree. The textures for the twigs, needles and cone buds, as well as the pine cone textures were all scanned and edited in Photoshop. The ground image is a photograph I found on http://www.alpine-digital.com. For all the textures I created roughness, specular, normal and displacement maps in CrazyBump.

Thank you for your comments. I just looked back at the needle scans and see that you are correct. They could be a little more pointy at the tips. These materials were scanned from a Douglas Fir by our driveway. :)

  • Looks really good, at a quick glance it's very photo realistic. Did notice one thing though, having grown up with a lot of pine trees, the tips of your living needles are a little to stubby, is it possible to sharpen them up a little? Really good job on your assets though!!
