This opens up a lot of possibilities

You could use this to prototype a level with simple shape primitives (Objects) then have everything aligned the way you want and then work on the set pieces in a default Global space. Then when you're done,  just replace the primitives with the 3D models you built.

This is great because basically you can Model, UV, Texture, move to Zbrush etc. while keeping your level layout intact, then replace them as you finish. This could even work directly importing into Unity or Unreal and have a level with primitives/collisions for play testing before you finish the whole thing.

Something so simple but so powerful :D
