This is a very n00b question, but I've found that I like to start by picking a blue hue and then picking a saturation and brightness very close to the middle to create a kind of neutral blue background (ie 3E6B8A). Is this a common technique or am I doing something that might be working against me? Is it just a matter of personal preference?
