PokeBall Decal Problem. Catch Class Help Please.

Question Materials and Textures

Can't seem to get any wear, or color or anything else to work in the Shader.  I need some idea what could be going on.  At first I thought Shrinkwrap offset was too high but don't really think that is the problem, because the nodes would still affect the Sticker.  It just seems like nothing is happening.

    Solution

You don't want the material output node in the group, delete it and plug the principled shader into the group output node, then exit the group with tab and plug BSDF output from the group node into the material output node.

    Actually,

I recommend you Delete the Group and start over. There seem to be many things wrong with the Shader.

It's hard to troubleshoot exactly, because you didn't Pack External Data and the Node Tree is a bit of an unorganized mess, but I can already see a few things that don't make any sense to me.

I also must admit, that I haven't watched the Course yet, but starting over seems like the best thing for you to do.

Might need to update the video then, because it says to do this.  Thank you for your response Adrian.  I'm trying it now.  Still not working for me.  I'm going to keep trying, I'll restart this procedure again on a sphere, skipping the part where it says to include the Material Output in the Group Node and see what's what.  Maybe it'll work then.

Hey Martin, I didn't see your message while I was replying to Adrian.  Packing External Data didn't come to mind while I was losing my mind! haha...I'll be redoing  this over again.  Can't decide to just restart or just trying on a sphere...probably the former.  Just do again.  I am not use to these noodle and node things at all.

You'll get used to larger Node Trees wwrongwright over time.

It can get confusing really quick and then you don't what is doing what and where you should change something to get a certain result and...you just loose all oversight.

Organization (Frame Nodes, Reroutes, Labeling Nodes, Frames and Reroutes and so) really helps a lot.

Just a quick word, I had a breakthrough on the Decal section of the Video and a word for all future people:  Don't include the Material Output when creating a group.  I am happily moving on to the animation section.
