As a consequence of the very unpredictable disaster, the planet lost its source of energy: Sun. It was the cause of global cataclysm, which killed over 90 percent of species on the globe. Humanity was plunged into chaos, humans had evolved to survive. Disconnected from the current source of energy, food sources, and protection of civilization they have to start to live like animals. Humans adapted to live in complete darkness and started to use supplies stored in ruins of civilization. Unfortunately, without specialistic knowledge, they didn't maintain to climb back to pick of a food chain.
