Recovering from a Blender Crash
Autosave has your back.
We've all been there. When you're deep in the zone, hammering away at a project and you've either forgotten to save in the past hour, Blender crashes, or the raging storm outside knocks out your power. Your heart then skips a beat as you realize, "I didn't save...all that work....GONE!!" I for one have lost hours of work over the 10+ years I've been working with computer graphics, and it's always heart-breaking. Luckily, Blender has some built-in features to help prevent such grief. In this lesson, you'll learn how to recover from a crash in 3 ways:
- Recover Last Session - Blender's first line of defense for picking up right where you left off.
- Recover Autosave - Automatically-generated duplicates of your scene file.
- Incremental Saves - Another flavor of automatically-generated duplicates. Those mysterious .blend1 and .blend2 files.
