Quick questions tho it might be slightly unrelated. If you were to export this object into a game engine such as Unity, is it necessary to 'apply' these modifiers, and if you didn't is there any difference? If there's any courses in this site about how blender behaves with unity/unreal then ill check it out, but I've not found anything so far.

Typically I try to only apply modifiers when I want to directly modify the generated mesh. When exporting to game engines I just make sure "Apply Modifiers" is enabled in the export settings, such that the modifies are applied at export but I don't have to undo anything afterwards to bring them back. We have quite a few courses on Unity, and many on Blender + Unity. For starters check out these two flows: https://cgcookie.com/flow/introduction-to-game-asset-creation/ https://cgcookie.com/flow/creating-a-tower-defense-game/
  • Ah these are perfect, thanks so much for the info and courses.
