I'm really enjoying this course. It is exactly the reason why I'm in Blender: Vehicle modeling. While I'm following this course, I'm applying the techniques over my own project, a Pegaso truck. While using the mirror modifier and the empty mirror object on the wheels, I came across this question: Once we got all the parts of the vehicle, in case you want to render one mudguard in one style, and the other render in other style, won't be possible right?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're trying to do, but when you assign materials you can choose whether to assign it to the Object or to the Mesh Data. This means that you can assign different materials to different objects, even if they share the same mesh. Here's a screenshot: http://cl.ly/e3xL
