How does one even create such a nice-looking paint texture in the first place? (Goes for the later grime/scratch textures as well.) E.g., I can't imagine using the Blender 3D painting to arrive at something like this (or is that in fact how this is created?), nor do I understand how to do this in Photoshop if that's the way. There seems to be a big gap between where the last lesson on texturing left off and getting to a texture like this. Would be great to have a more end-to-end description. Thanks.
  • I had the same question in my mind when I first applied the texture to the gizmo so I went digging through the project files and tried to understand how things were assembled to achieve the rendered look. I encourage you to look at the UV of the gizmo with the image texture. You'll see how the image texture is quite simple and easy to understand once you break things down.
