I am trying to add the multires modifier after baking ambient occlusion (normalised) - no subdivision modifier - preview set to 5 - but it crashes everytime I try to display in viewport. I tried doing eveything you did in the video to prevent the crashing, but it still crashes. Are there any other setting I am missing?
  • I get the same problem, except I got the pleasure of the computer itself crashing. Unfortunately my computer isn't quite powerful enough. I would assume you're running into the same issue. In my humble opinion.
  • High Scott. I discovered that my graphics card was a huge factor in this problem. I decided to replace it with a much newer model and haven't had a single problem since. Maybe you just need more computing power?
  • Same here. I'm getting the same problem with crashing EVERY time! I have a brand new MBPro (early 2016) fully upgraded: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB. This is the most powerful 13" Mac money can buy.
