Direction of an instanced object on a hair strand: Which number of hair segments needed?

I'm wondering , if the general direction of a hair determines the direction of an object instance, whether we only need one hair segment instead of five as in the video. Is the direction of the object instance the direction of the straight line drawn from the root of a hair to its tip?

    Yes indeed it is!

    I think the minimum hair segments is 2, but usng more won't make a difference. (Maybe less segments is faster?)

  • Thanks, spikeyxxx, and the minimum of 2 segments means that each hair has 3 parts with the "Segments" being the lines crossing the hairs as it can be seen here especially in the hairs growing upwards:
