Exploring the Blender Fracture Modifier
Live Stream Host: Jonathan LampelFracture is a new physics modifier for Blender that's been in development for some time. It hopes to become an official feature some time in the 2.8 series, but for now it remains experimental. Even in its early stages it has been used for VFX work in film and television. In this livestream we'll cover some of the many features of the modifier and why it's so much more useful than the Cell Fracture addon.
The modifier requires its own special build of Blender, which you can grab here: https://blender.community/c/graphicall/
Hi Ben and Markus!
Hello Markus
Hi guys! :)
Hey Ben
Hello there
Howdy Folks
Baked them all to a handful and it used more memory, that was kinda a WTF
Over all I used 30 4K textures on the model
I would think four 4K textures used more memory then one 4K baked one
But when I plugged the baked one, it used more memory on the GPU
So I didn't have to use so much textures I baked all the Dif into one and same for the others
Another thing I noticed, I made at least four 4K textures for Diffuse, two 4K for Spec, two 4K for Bump and also for Disp
Hahaha yeah, that whole system needs some love 😅
The things we do for our art =]
I bet that if prisoners in Guantanamo Bay had to do Normal Map Baking, I'd be consider a form of torture
If you shoot an email to support@cgcookie.com about the image quality, I can assign that over to Nick or Dennis who would know more
I'm catching up on tutorials now, just finishing the Sci-Fi door
I uploaded the renders to my CGC profile and Artstation, and in Artistation they retained the whole resolution but I in CGC it feels as if the quality got reduced a lot
Yes the renders look as if the site reduced the quality a lot
I use it in the recent voxel course, check that out then :)
