The Interface

In this video we’ll go over the basics of using the main panels you’ll often use in Unity. The three panels we’ll discuss are the Hierarchy,Project, Inspector. We’ll also briefly look at the Console window which is situated next to the Project panel. A brief overview of what each of these does:
  • Hierachy – Displays all game objects in our scene in a list format. Can include multiple nested objects, hence “hierarchy”.
  • Project – Will include everything that makes our game. Scripts, models, animation clips, fonts, will all be stored in the project panel for use.
  • Inspector – Displays relevant information for the object we currently have selected. Will often display components attached to game objects.
