I think I broke panning
I'm not sure what I did, but panning and rotating in the world view (moving around) is now INCREDIBLY slow.
Use to I could fly around easily panning, spinning the viewport. But I must have fat fingered something because now it's incredibly fine grained. Any idea what I might have done?

e + gz vs e + z
At 7:00, you said to extrude along the z-axis by using "e+gz", extrude, grab, and lock to the z-axis; was this meant to be "e+z" as in extrude and lock to the z-axis? What is the difference?

The Z-fighting issue at 3.58 but not at 4.42.. How?
We get Z-fighting when we extrude the pentagon(already having a face) at 3.58.. why Don't we get some similar issue if we are doing a similar thing at 4.42? What's the difference?

My fins reverted to 2d when I joined objects.
Using 2.79, since 2.80 crashes\fails startup, I used ctrl-J to combine all the objects into one for easier animating. but when I went into top ortho view to work on the launch pad lo-and-behold my fins are 2D again
!(thank goodness for saving multiple files so I still have a good copy) Do I need to apply the modifier on the fins before using ctrl-J? Or, Can I just parent all the rocket parts to the main body of the rocket, cause wont that cause the other parts to move with the main body too when animating?1 Answer -

How to extrude the first pentagon of the landing pad
This wasn't a problem for me in 2.79, but 2.8 is proving an enigma. I can create the first landing pad pentagon and scale it. I can select/deselect the pentagon. But nothing I do seems to extrude the pentagon. I tried edit mode and E but it doesn't work. I tried numerous other commands, none of which work. Here's my screen:
