I spent some time playing around with the various sliders and nodes from the gemstone course, and mixed a translucent shader to the transparent shader to get a slightly clearer effect, then increased the number of different markers on the colour slider, then put it against a generic desk and background. The two gemstones on the left have an identical shader, however the shape has given each a completely different look.
