Star Wars GONK Droid Final

So still learning and plugging away at Blender. Having lots of fun with it. Decided to do the old GONK droid from Star Wars. Some aspects of it I'm not 100% happy with, eg. the feet needs another look at. Topology is a bit naff in places. Also the cables is very "stiff." I'm having trouble getting the smoothness of the "curve to mesh" operation to apply the skin modifier to it. I was hoping to keep the bezier handles when applying the modifier, but it seems to only work once I convert the curve to mesh. I did do a "limited dissolve" on the mesh, but the skin still gets applied fairly stiff. Will keep fiddling. No UV's yet, just modeling. As always, comments, critique welcome - aim is to keep learning ;-)
