Mesh-modeling Fundamentals Exercise 01

This is an exercise submission on the exercise Mesh Modeling Exercise 01

Exercises are a great way to test what you've learned given certain restraints, while getting feedback from your peers. Plus, they're a lot of fun!

    Looks good, well done!
About your question: I seldom add an extra vertex to an Ngon to create triangles.
But sometimes I've found it necessary to get a more smoother shading.
In this exercise, where there's only flat shading, I don't think it makes any difference.
I expect there'll be much more on this topic further on the Blender Learning Flow.

    clean topology...
(quads work better in blender than tris or ngons)...
    good work.

There's one thing I'm not sure about. I took care to remove any possible n-gons I could find on the cube, but didn't touch the sphere or the cone. As a result, there are 4 ngons still remaining on the top and the botton of two objects. Is it usually worth adding a verticle to the center of those ngons to turn them into a lot of triangles or it doesn't really matter all that much?

  • Yves Perera (shinsaku)

    Good to me.
