The character ball

This is an exercise submission on the exercise Character Ball

This submission has passed!

Exercises are a great way to test what you've learned given certain restraints, while getting feedback from your peers. Plus, they're a lot of fun!

    Nice work, Sicky.

Yes you did get the character part down, but here are some notes to help polish your animation.

-You have some jitters on the the first jumps because you are not showing the stretched landing.  And the amount of S&S should match the speed of the ball.  Try shifting the stretched landing down to contact the ground, and then reducing the size of the squash to match the speed of the jump.  If the change of shape is too big over a too short time it will strobe.

-f72, this arc starts to travel backwards.

-make sure f74 is touching the ground, otherwise the spacing slows down and it clicks straight into a squash.

-if he is doing a burn out, I would try making him do a little jump to the screen left to get into it.  (and start spinning in the air).  Then when he lands keep him spinning towards the ramp but still moving screen left before his burnout starts moving forward (I hope that makes sense)

-Then the next thing to be clear on is the momentum on how he gets into the ramp.  He has built up a lot of speed getting to the ramp edge, but then stops and jumps straight up.  This is also really slow.   Think about the momentum and not losing that energy that you have built up.

-Swooping through the ramp is also really slow.

-Then watch the change of speed in the air, he slows down even more in the middle of the jump but then speeds up around 236.  Ideally all this should flow at the one speed.  (I hope that makes sense)

-also you can increase the size of the frame counter font so I don't have use a microscope to read it haha.

But I love all the hard work you put into this one.  Good stuff Sickelo.
