Acting in front of people can be scary.
We can have anxiety of looking like a fool in front of others and being judged. But something interesting happens when we lean into this fear and own it. You take away its power!
So upload a short clip of yourself acting like a total fool and looking silly (30 seconds is enough). When you realize that it isn’t the end of the world (and can be quite fun!) you'll lose any anxieties and produce better work. There is a good chance that everything you do after this is always going to be infinitely better because you will be in the moment and not thinking about how you look.
Do not try to look good or cool. Just be you. And remember, you cannot change the way you look physically, you can only change the relationship you have with your mind about the way you feel about it. Don’t worry about the things you can’t change and work on the things that you can change.
Let the silliness begin!
Don’t forget to make your video unlisted so you don’t have to explain yourself to a future employer one day!...“Um, we’d like to employ you, but you are clearly insane.”
