This tutorial describes how to create the 3 major light types (spot, point, and directional), and how to manipulate thier properties, such as color, intensity, and range.

    The one problem i have is the bouncing form youtube to vimeo. on youtube i can’t go fullscreen. not the end of the world, but consistency in watching these would be nice. it’s a bit sloppy in the least.

    As of Unity3d 4.1 the halo component of lights is broken, so if you get pissed like me by the fact that your halo doesn’t work, just go to component->effects and add a halo to your light. This will make the halo on light to appear as well. Also the author of this tutorial should mention the fact that you need to set up a Halo texture in Edit->Render Settings. One good texture is the default-particle that comes with unity3d.
