In this Modo video tutorial we’ll take a look on how we have to proceed to create a simple scene with a basic photographic lighting setup, and how we can create some simple glasses using bezier curve and sweep operator tools. We’ll take an overview on material and shader creation using the Modo Shader Tree to render glasses and liquids.
Hey Everyone,
We have successfully restored a back-up to the site from Saturday, 1/14/2012 10pm. Some images and comments which were added after this time may not have been restored. If you happened to create an account on CG Cookie after this time period and are having trouble accessing your account, please let us know at support@cgcookie.com. Also if you create a new account and notification doesn’t come through please let us know. We were informed from Rackspace that they are working on a lingering DB issue which may be affecting CGC, and BA.
Thank you for the understanding and patience with us.
But all should be well going forward and comments and registrations have been reopened!

Great addition Alessandro.
Good Work.
Thanks Justin,
I hope we can help the Modo Community with our project.
Stay tuned for more tutorials and tips !

Just a quick tip, if you have a material that is 100% transparent, you should set the diffuse amount to 0. It only adds render time.
Hi Chris,
yes it is right, but in this project we have 1% speedup changing its value, for example I’ve 34.4 secs with 0% diffuse, and 34.6 secs with 100% diffuse, but I’ve better GI color bleeding with 100% diffuse, so it depends on the final look you’d like to achieve.
Thanks for the support !
Alessandro
