This tutorial will cover a unique method of creating hard surface-models using smoothing groups instead edge loops. The advantages of this method is it allows for faster modeling and let’s you concept while you work.

This method also creates a less dense base mesh. Making it easier to adjust, and therefor quicker to change the final result.

      Thanks, it is definitely a time saver. With practice you can make any shape just like you would using the more standard way. just without a million edges making your life difficult.

    What are the specs on your system? Your screen runs so smooth. I know there is not alot of detail on there but i am trying to build a good system and want to know what route to go. I know its far off base of what this tutorial is however i just had to ask. THanks

      really late to the reply, sorry about that. I’ve been super busy working on a new tutorial for max cookie. so keep your eye out.

      Anywho I did this on my laptop so my laptop has

      i7 850
      8 gb ddr3 ram
      and an amd 5850 mobile card
