Introduction

In this video for 3ds max we’ll be back to work at Shooting plasma energy series, and this time we’ll focus on tweakings FumeFX layers to prepare final setup.

What we’ll do in Part 2

In part 2 of Shooting plasma energy we’ll work more in depth at both FumeFX setup. We’ll tweak all parameters to obtain final simulation data. We’ll work on rendering and illumination to optimize look, then we’ll work more on fluid properties and voxel scaling to achieve best compromise between speed and quality. We’ll add a smoke layer to the plasma energy simulating some energy leaving the center of energy, and to have a more crispy detail level we’ll use a wavelet simulation too. At the end we’ll start preparing basic Particle Flow setup to start working on additional layers to be rendered with Krakatoa.

Wow good timing. I’ve been working on my personal portfolio piece and this series looks like it will be very useful in helping me come up with my style of Laser Beam. I had already planned on using FumeFX, Krakatoa, Thinking Particles (Demoltion Master) and Vray. I’ll definitely be watching these. Nice Work!

Thanks Travis, tomorrow we’ll release Part 3 with a new explosion layer. I think you’ll find really useful coming Citizen series because we’ll focus deeply on FumeFX, Krakatoa, Thinking particles and many more FX stuffs ;)

I love these tutorials. They are really helpfull giving me tips and tricks to work with for my own series of small animations videos. One clquestion though I could really do with some sort of detailed laser system. Any idea how I can create this?

Great work Alessandro keep it up :]

Thanks. It depends on the final result you like to achieve, do you have any reference to check it ? so I can help you more.
