Introduction

In this video tutorial for 3ds max we’ll start preparing a new series to create a monster tornado, a creature made of dust and similar to a twister, able to be moved and simulated in fluid dynamic.

What we’ll do

In part 1 of Monster tornado series, we’ll create the basic setup to control it in animation and it will be done using simple stuffs as a cylinder, a spline, a path deform modifier and animating some parameters, in this way we’ll be able to make it growing and animate it as a snake. Then we’ll use it as object source in FumeFX to add dust moving all around. To make it more similar to a twister we’ll add a vortex space warp. In part 2 we’ll tweak it to make it final and we’ll add more passes on the ground and some additional layers done using Krakatoa.

Hi MaxCookie I just had a few questions. How do I get Krakatoa? and do I have to pay for it? If I do get it how do I install it?

Hi, thanks for your comment. Obviously you can translate it for any software that has fluid dynamic simulator :)
