What we’ll do in this tip video

In this tip video for 3ds max, we’ll take a look at a simple way to simulate wind moving a tree. This technique is not so useful for “hero” tree models, but it can be useful when you have to add a subtle wind animation to hundreds or thousands of trees/plans, done for example using a scattering plug-in.

We’ll see how we can simulating wind over plants just using a simple noise modifier applied to a tree mesh done using AEC primitives, and how to vary its look using a soft selection set.

Thanks for your comment. Just to make a test, please assign a double faced material to leaves and see if everything will goes fine in rendering.
